Having passed his 1<sup>st<\/sup> State Exam in law, he received his doctorate for the thesis titled &#8222;The author in public services&#8220; under Prof. Dr Manfred Rehbinder at the University of Freiburg im Breisgau. At the same time, he worked as an assistant at the Institute for Copyright and Media Law in Munich. After completing his legal clerkship working for e.g. Professor Dr. Norbert Flechsig, at the Stuttgart State Theatre, and for the international law firm DEBEVOISE &amp; PLIMPTON in New York City, Prof. Dr. D\u00fcnnwald passed his 2nd State Exam in law and joined the Hamburg media law firm PRINZ NEIDHARDT ENGELSCHALL as a lawyer in 2000. In the seventeen and a half years working there, he devoted himself primarily to advising and representing commercial enterprises in matters relating to the freedom of expression and media law. Prof. Dr. D\u00fcnnwald subsequently co-founded the media law firm IRION D\u00dcNNWALD with the same practice areas. At the beginning of 2020, he then founded his own law firm, D\u00dcNNWALD RECHTSANW\u00c4LTE, which has been operating under the name D\u00dcNNWALD LEGAL since the beginning of 2023 with him as the sole professional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the annual JUVE and LEGAL 500 handbooks, Prof. Dr. D\u00fcnnwald has repeatedly been highlighted as a &#8222;recommended&#8220; lawyer in the fields of press and media law.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to his work as a lawyer, Prof. Dr. D\u00fcnnwald has been teaching today&#8217;s Master\u2019s degree course in Culture and Media Management at the University of Music and Theatre in Hamburg since 2003. He was appointed as honorary professor in 2011.
